This traditional German pizza is creamy and is topped with nutty Gruyere cheese and smoky bacon .
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: about 12 minutes Serves: 4 to 6
1 ball prepared pizza dough
1/2 cup crème fraiche or sour cream
2/3 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
6 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked crisp and broken into pieces
Preheat oven to 450°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll dough into an oval as thinly as possible on a lightly floured board. Transfer to baking sheet and spread with crème fraiche or sour cream. Sprinkle with cheese then top with onion and bacon. Cook for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
