Fig Balsamic Glaze

Starting with a jar of Dalmatia Fig Spread makes this glaze simple to prepare. It’s great for ham or turkey or add a bit of olive oil to turn it into a vinaigrette.

 

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 5 minutes

 

1 (8.5-oz.) jar Dalmatia Fig Spread

3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

3 tablespoons lemon juice

1 1/2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard

1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Finely grated zest of 1 lemon

 

Stir together fig spread, vinegar, lemon juice and mustard in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer, then cook over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let cool slightly, then stir in rosemary, sea salt and lemon zest. Let cool completely, then store in a covered container in the refrigerator. May be prepared up to a week ahead. Makes about 1 cup.
