Egg Nog Chocolate Truffle Spread

This seems fancy but is so easy. It’s a great gift from the kitchen.

 

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 5 minutes

Chill time: several hours

 

3/4 cup Crystal Egg Nog

1/4 cup Crystal Butter

1 bag milk, dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips

3/4 teaspoon rum extract

 

Heat egg nog and butter in a medium saucepan over very low heat. Add chocolate and cook, stirring frequently, until chocolate is almost melted. Remove from heat and stir until fully melted; stir in extract. Pour into decorative bowls or canning jars. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. May be prepared several weeks ahead.

Chocolate Swirl Variation:

Make a batch using white chocolate chips. Let dark and white chocolate mixtures cool slightly to thicken, then add dollops to your container. Drag a knife through to create a swirled sauce.
