alouette Mashed Potatoes Potatoes

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: about 15 minutes

 

2 lbs. gold or red potatoes, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes

1/3 cup water

3/4 cup milk

1 (6.5-oz.) package Alouette Parmesan Basil or Caramelized Onion Soft

    Spreadable Cheese*

1 teaspoon garlic salt, or to taste

Freshly ground pepper

 

Place potatoes in a large microwave-safe bowl with water. Cover with plastic  wrap and slit to vent. Microwave on HIGH for 15 minutes. Carefully remove plastic wrap and mash to your liking, creamy or chunky. Stir in milk, cheese, salt and pepper. Cook for a minute or 2 more to heat if necessary. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

 

*May substitute your favorite Alouette Soft Spreadable Cheese.

 

Make ahead tip:

May be prepared 2 days ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator. Reheat in the microwave, stirring in additional milk as potatoes will thicken as they stand.
